COOKIE POLICY
Here below, we would like to inform you about the use of cookies on the zecchinigroup.it website. Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to ensure proper functioning of the services offered and to improve the experience of using online applications. This document provides detailed information on the use and management of cookies and similar technologies. For immediate access to the complete information (pursuant to Art. 13 of the European Regulation 2016/679), please click here.
Definition of cookies
Cookies are small text files sent by the website and downloaded to the user’s device (usually to the browser), where they are stored in order to be sent back to the website that issued them (first-party cookies) or to another website that recognises them (third-party cookies) the next time the same user visits them. It is thanks to cookies that a site remembers the user’s actions and preferences (e.g. login data, chosen language, font size, display settings, etc.), so that they do not have to be set again when the user returns to that site or navigates from one page to another of it. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser and it is stored, based on the user’s preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device being used (e.g. computer, tablet, or smartphone), thus enabling a website to recognise the user’s device itself. Some operations could not be carried out without the use of cookies, which in certain cases are therefore technically necessary for the site to function. We will refer to cookies and all similar technologies by simply using the term “cookies”.
Purposes of processing and purposes of cookies
The purpose of cookies used on the web is to perform computer authentication, monitor sessions, and store technical information about the activities of users accessing a site. They may also contain a unique identification code that enables the tracking of the users’ surfing activity within the site itself for statistical or advertising purposes. Certain operations on the web could not be carried out without the use of cookies, which in such cases are therefore technically necessary and indispensable to allow navigating efficiently among web pages, remembering your favourite sites, and, in general, improving your browsing experience. Cookies enable the web server to store information on a device that can be re-used during the same visit to the site (session cookies: they remain active only until the browser is closed or the logout command is executed) or even during subsequent visits by the same user (persistent cookies: they survive closure of the browser and remain on the user’s device until a pre-set expiry date).
Pursuant to the provisions on the “Identification of simplified procedures for the disclosure and acquisition of consent for the use of cookies” of 8 May 2014 and any subsequent clarifications, based on the characteristics and use of cookies, two macro-categories are identified: “technical” cookies and “profiling” cookies.
- Technical cookies
Technical cookies are used for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. Technical cookies, for the installation of which the user’s prior consent is not required, are essential to allow navigating a website and using all of its functionalities. In other words, these cookies are indispensable to ensure normal navigation or necessary to enable the use of the site itself, e.g. Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and parameters of the device used to connect to the site, name of the Internet service provider (ISP), date and time of visit, visitor’s web page of origin (referral) and exit, and number of clicks. Such cookies are also used to store a user’s decision on whether to use cookies on the website. Technical cookies include as follows: browsing or session cookies, for example allowing a purchase to be made or authentication to be performed to access restricted areas, or simply storing a user’s decision on the use of cookies on the site; analytical cookies (or performance cookies), similar to technical cookies wherever they are used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, for statistical purposes (about accesses or about the number of users and how they visit the site itself or which pages are most frequently visited) in order to improve its operation; and functionality cookies, which enable the user to navigate according to a number of selected criteria (e.g. language or products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the user themselves.
- Profiling cookies
For explanatory purposes only, since the www.zecchinigroup.it website does not use them, profiling cookies are used to create profiles of users while they are browsing and they are designed to analyse their activities and browsing or consumption habits (what they buy, what they read, etc.), as well as storing the choices they make on the site and/or the services they expressly request. The aim is guaranteeing increasingly advanced services, publishing personalised content (e.g. advertising banners, images, videos, etc.) targeted at a user and their interests, and sending advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while surfing the web. Because of the particular invasiveness of such systems in the private sphere of the user, the use of these cookies requires the prior acquisition of the user’s informed consent through a visible banner.
Third-party cookies
Third-party cookies are cookies set directly by operators of different sites or web servers and used for purposes specific to those third parties, which, in the course of browsing this site, a user may receive on their device. This is because the site may contain elements such as images, maps, and specific links to web pages of other domains that reside on servers other than the one on which the requested web page is located. These cookies may be sent to the user’s browser by third parties directly from their websites (which can be accessed by browsing from this site) and they are the responsibility of those third parties. The use of third-party cookies requires the prior informed consent of the user via a banner visible on this website.
Two examples are the third-party cookies that are used to personalise advertising exposure depending on the user’s interests and frequency of exposure to messages (e.g. advertisers may use their own cookies to collect information about user activities on this website and also use this information to measure the effectiveness of their advertising) and the “social plugins” of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, and YouTube, whose most common use is for sharing content on social networks. These page elements are generated directly by these sites and integrated into the page of the host site: the presence of these plugins results in the transmission of cookies to and from all these sites operated by third parties. When the user clicks on any social network icons, they are directed to the respective sites and receive cookies from them that are not under the control of the Owner. The management of third party cookies, as well as the management of information collected by third parties, is governed by their respective “Cookie policies”. For the sake of transparency, we provide the following updated links to the respective cookie management policies.

We do not use cookies for user profiling, nor do we use any other tracking methods on this website. With regard to third-party cookies, our site includes certain components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”): the information generated by third-party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookies) is transmitted to Google and stored on its servers. Google Analytics uses such cookies to anonymously collect and analyse information on website usage behaviour (including the user’s IP address). This information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it in order to compile reports for operators on website activity. This site does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) Google’s analytics tool to monitor or collect personally identifiable information. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data held by Google itself, nor does it attempt to link an IP address with a user’s identity. Please see the relevant information issued by Google on this webpage: https://www.google.com/intl/it/policies/privacy/. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if required to do so by law or if such third parties process it on Google’s behalf. The user can selectively disable the action of Google Analytics through the appropriate settings on their browser; please refer to the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Rejecting and blocking cookies
Most internet browsers are initially set up to accept cookies automatically. This means that the user has the possibility, at any time, to set their browser to accept all cookies, some cookies, or to reject them by disabling their use by websites. Preferences relating to cookies in terms of authorisation, blocking, or deletion (in whole or in part) must be set separately for each browser, as each offers specific functionalities and options. In addition, it is normally possible to set a browser to notify whenever a cookie is stored on the device in use. Finally, at the end of each browsing session, it is possible to delete the cookies collected from the device’s hard disk. The total or partial disabling of technical cookies may however compromise, in whole or in part, the use of the site’s functionalities reserved for users, the viewing of its contents, and the usability of its services: disabling functionality cookies may result in some services or features of the site not being available or not working properly. On the other hand, disabling third-party cookies does not affect the navigability of this website in any way.
Cookie preferences need to be re-set if different devices or browsers are used to access the website. Browsers also allow defining different settings for “first-party” and “third-party” cookies. By clicking the links here below, you can receive specific instructions for some of the major browsers:
